The Model T Coin Bill was introduced in the Senate (S.587) and the House of Representatives (H.R.1619) on February 14, 2007 and March 21, 2007, respectively. The co-sponsors of the Senate bill were Senators Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin and the original co-sponsors of the House bill were Representatives John Conyers, Dale Kildee, Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, Thaddeus McCotter and John Dingell.

In recognition of the Congressional bills, the Honorable Gino Polidori introduced H.R.78 on April 25, 2007 in the Michigan House of Representatives. H.R.78 is a resolution to memorialize Congress to enact H.R.1619 and S.587. On June 21, 2007, the resolution passed on a voice vote.
